Have you ever found yourself in an unfamiliar city, not knowing what the locals know and not aware of what is around you, sometimes hidden in plain sight?
Have you ever looked around where you live, work and study and been aware that many of the places you visit are the same? Do you want to know more and find new gems in your city?
If you are like me then both of those two things have been true to some extent.
Imagine a way to explore a city's art, architecture, history and culture on a route that you choose, whilst at all points on your route, knowing the very best of independent retailers and local businesses within meters of where you are standing. Imagine knowing where to go in a healthcare emergency, for dental care, for travel information and even for accommodation. Imagine knowing what events are happening in the city, such as exhibitions, live music, pub quizzes, comedy, markets, charity events, talks, outdoor movie screenings and much more.
This is how ExploreACity was born.
How I was bitten by travel
I was lucky enough to go on my first trip to Guernsey at 5 years old. My parents regularly took me and my brothers camping and sightseeing and I have been hooked ever since, I've been lucky enough to have visited over 20 countries and I plan on more!
However I always have a feeling that I could somehow miss something - so I wanted to do something about that. I wanted to have a local knowledge in unfamiliar lands.
Top Destinations
I love Wales, I love the peak district, I love big bustling cities. Some of my favourite places to visit so far have been Paris, Cornwall, Pembroke Thailand, Goa and Ireland. I love to travel.
I can't wait to continue this with my young family.
